ShayD has been writing lyrics from a young age and started rapping around eight years ago. Taking her inspiration from books, life and enjoying music from a huge range of genre from Billy holiday to Bone thugs and harmony, appreciating female artist such as Salt n Pepa, MC Lyte, Foxy Brown and Mystic encouraged her to continue. Her focus was more on writing lyrics and poetry but after winning a MC competition over ten MC's, in Cyprus for fun, she realised she wanted to perform despite her discreet persona. She started jumping on some open mics around London be it garage or hip hop and doing sets on pirate radio with other mcs. Her passion in working with young kids and helping the community, lead her to taking part and performing to raise funds for charitable events in London. This soon headed for ShayD running rap workshops for young people in London. ShayD has recorded a number of tracks which have had a positive reaction from listeners and wishes to remain underground and just do it for the love.
